Notice is hereby given that there will be an election held in the City of Ranson, West Virginia, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the Ranson City Hall located at 312 S. Mildred Street. The polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the purpose of electing the following positions: Four (4) Council Members: Two (2) At-Large Council Member, One (1) First Ward Council Member One (1) Second Ward Council Member. Each term will be for four (4) years.
The filing period for candidates will commence on January 12, 2026, and will end on January 31, 2026. Certificates of Announcement can be obtained from the City Clerk’s Office at 312 S. Mildred Street, Ranson, WV. There is a filing fee of $100.00 for City Council members and $120.00 for Mayor, which is equivalent to one percent of the annual salary for the respective position.
Candidates must submit their filings to the City Clerk no later than January 31, 2026, and if mailing, the application must be postmarked by midnight on that date. Official write-in candidates must file a Certificate of Announcement at least forty-nine (49) days before the general election for their votes to be counted.

Campaign Finance Reporting for the 1st Quarter is due between April 1, 2026 – April 7, 2026. This reporting period covers all Transactions that occurred from January 1, 2026 through March 31, 2026.
