Section 10-4 of the Ranson Municipal Code (Open Burning Prohibited)
This section of the city ordinance deals with open burning within the city limits of Ranson, WV.

Section 10-4 (a) state’s “The open air burning of refuse for the purpose of volume reduction, elimination or product recovery by any person, firm, corporation, association, or public agency is prohibited”.

Section 10-4 (2) states “Fires set for the purpose of bona fide instruction and training of public and industrial employees and members of the volunteer fire departs in the methods
of fighting fires, provided that approval to conduct such burning is received and approved as a special activity permit”.

Section 10-4 (3) states ” Open burning of construction and demolition waste, provided that all of the following conditions are met and approval to conduct such burning is received and approved as a special activity permit”.

“Any open burning is per for recreational purpose only. Recreational burning includes charcoal grills / gas grills, small fire pit tables, outdoor covered fireplaces and heat lamps. Please call the Ranson Police Department if you have any questions.”
